People's experiences here seem to be hit-or-miss. Part of this seems to be due to the fact that the rooms are individually owned and rented out during the owner's absence. So the room quality is to some degree based on how well the owner has furnished the room. In my case the room was lovely with a wrap-around balcony affording a gorgeous view. Considering the rather low rate I got my first thought when I walked in was "Is this the right room?". The kitchenette was fully stocked and the TV/air conditioner both worked fine. The cable did go out a couple times, but conversations with the locals assured me that this is a common problem on the island. Besides, I didn't come here to watch TV. My experiences with the staff were excellent. Everyone from the check-in girl to the shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful. Special kudos go to K the concierge who had many helpful suggestions and to J who was an absolute hoot! The beach and facilities are a little basic, but other beaches are close by. I do recommend renting a car as the cab rides add up very quickly. One note: Point Pleasant has been compared unfavorably to the resort next door. The resort next door is the newly-refurbished Wyndham, whose rooms are 2 to 3 times as expensive as the rooms here. So it is to some degree a case of getting what you pay for!

Well, I don't think I would have mind the poor service and cable not working, if the hotel was more accomidating. The shuttle drivers were very rude and always made us feel that they were going out of their way to drive us down the hill. The view "WOW" you couldn't ask for a better one, but it was sad to view the beautiful pool and activities in the resort next door. Definately rent a car on your trip, it cost us so much money on cabs and tips. The beaches on the resort are very small and children should not be allowed to swim in them, very rocky. All in all we had a good time, but would have been great if we would have stated at the resort next door.

Our visit was during their down time and the experience was breathe taking. The attentivness of the staff was great. The bar & grill was good with the Ocean at your feet was wonderfull. X the person cooking the meals quickly became a close friend.... The romantic resturant on the grounds was one of class. The quarters were we stayed was great. The view, the privacy, the feel of being on you own grounds and not the hustle bustle of a hotel was worth every penny....

This unique unit (F15) @ Point Pleasant at the island's east end afforded a spectacular view of the BVI's and St. John. Our room was close to the water, each night as we fell asleep, we could hear the waves crashing on pineapple beach each night. This room was very private, we enjoyed coffee on our private balcony each morning without virtually seeing a single person. The room was recently painted and remodeled and very clean. We enjoyed having a full sized refrigerator, microwave, small stove and our own blender to make frozen drinks. We enjoyed dining at the Agave as well as the less formal restaurant Fungi's. Both have their own Caribbean atmosphere. One suggestion, renting a car is a must to enjoy all that St. Thomas has to offer. We walked to Coki Beach to snorkel. We loved having a car to dine at restaurants in Red Hook and Frenchtown. Day trips to Magan's Bay Beach and St. John are a must. Without a car, taxi prices can be rather expensive.
I would stay here again, It was nice to have 3 pools to choose from. There are nature trails to walk on throughout the resort. This resort is not for everyone, specifically someone looking to stay at the Ritz, it is natural and allows you to fully enjoy the Caribbean lifesyle. The resort is nestled on a hillside which allows you to take in a more secluded, relaxed, informal atmosphere, unlike many of the othe resorts that are "cookie cutter" in style and feel. -
