we stayed at the morningstar, had a second floor beach view, and all i can say is wow, what a view. the room was very clean, the staff very friendly, the furniture/bed was comfortable.the beach was beautiful. i was worried that there would be bugs (roaches and such), as you often get in hot humid places, but again, except for the mosquitoes, which you just couldn't get rid of, the place was spotless. the room had a slightly musty odor, but really, what i think we were smelling was the sea, which just permeated everything. and after a few moments, you don't even notice it. the hotel restaurant food was pretty good (very expensive), not the best, but definitely not bad in any sense. my husband did say that the fish he had was excellent. you might find that the doors are hard to open and close, but i think the humidity just warps the heck out of anything made of wood, so just lift up from the knob and pull gently. it kinda added to the charm of the place to me. so again, we really enjoyed our stay here, i would definitely stay stay here again ;^)

Although this is a very nice hotel, choose wisely before staying here it may end up costing you in the long run. While my overall stay was pretty good, I wound up getting overcharged on my final bill and to make matters worse, additional monies were taken out of my account one week after my stay. I contacted the Manager, leaving a message explaining the situation to no avail. I checked out on 9/01/2008 and to date I have not heard from the Manager of the hotel. I have now had to forward my complaint to their Corporate offices and will have to dispute the charges with my credit card company. The best advice I can give is; if you choose to stay in this hotel, do to not charge anything to your room. Pay for everything your purchase or eat at the hotel right away. Don't charge it, because in the long run you will end up with problems , a headache, and unprofessional staff.

My husband and I picked out this hotel for our honeymoon trip last fall from everything we read online. We enjoyed the island so much we are looking to going back on another trip. The hotel was nice overall. We ended up renting a car one day during our week trip and it was one of the best days we had. We should have done it the first day but you never know what you are going to want to do. At the hotel when we checked in we ended up switching rooms after the first night due to the horribly hard bed and the totally blocked ""water view"". Both of the beds we slept on were by far the hardest hotel beds I have ever experienced. We brought our own pillows so that was at least some comfort. We had mostly snack/dinner meals at the hotel. We had a decent buffet dinner at the Morning Star bar and a nice dinner at Windows. Unfortunately the Windows dinner was a create your own seafood pasta, so I did not get the chance to order a steak. The rooms had nice mini fridges and once we purchased some groceries we had better in room breakfasts. Room Service was nice and never late to arrive. Great in room deal was the pizza. The convenience store was wonderful since they had such late hours. Buy milk, cereal, and rum cake any time of the day! Taxis are readily available from the hotel to town since it is to far and too dangerous to walk to. We would eagerly go back to the hotel even with the chance of having stiff backs during our vacation.

This is a great place. We had a large spacious room, and great views no matter which way you looked. The two nicest restaurants in the hotel were closed our entire stay and the two swimming pools were closed most of the week. The resort is isolated enough to require a taxi if you go any where off the resort. One trip for two out to eat,off the resort, cost 28.00 for a taxi round trip. The food @ the resort is expensive so choose the all enclusive deal. I thought we would eat @ different places on the island, but with the cost of taxis that was costly unless you combined the trip with shopping. Don't get me wrong we loved the place and can't wait to return!!!
